Bechem United have secured a significant coup ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, signing 24-year-old midfielder Mohammed Aminu, a former Manchester City academy product and Ghana U17 international.

The club announced the transfer Thursday, highlighting Aminu’s “pace, power and European flair” as assets expected to bolster their attacking dynamics.

Aminu returns to Ghana after a seven-year European journey that began with a €1.8 million move from WAFA to Manchester City in 2017. He featured for City’s U23 side before loan spells at NAC Breda, Dordrecht, and Lommel United, followed by stints with Greece’s AEP Kozanis and Nigeria’s Gombe United. The midfielder was part of Ghana’s 2017 U-17 World Cup squad, once considered among the nation’s top prospects.

“Mohammed is set to bring flair, creativity and goals to our frontline,” Bechem stated, positioning the signing as a strategic boost for their domestic campaign. His return represents an opportunity to reignite a career that began with high promise but saw limited first-team breakthroughs abroad. The transfer marks a homecoming for the Accra-born player as he aims to establish himself in Ghana’s top flight.
