KWAMI SEFA KAYI |
Kwame Sefa Kayi is arguably one of the best presenters and the finest morning show host in Ghana. He can boast of fifteen years of solid experience in the media. He moved from Radio Gold 90.5 FM some years back alongside other presenters to the station with a vision, Peace FM.
The popular “kokrokoo” host hasn't regretted joining the mile seven-based Akan-speaking station since he perceived Peace FM as a gateway to establishing himself as one of Ghana's finest voices on radio. He as well used the opportunity to improve upon the gains he made at Radio Gold.
In an interview with Ignatius Annor of Showghana.com, he said, “the results are there for all and sundry to judge for themselves.”
According to the radio giant, also known as Chairman, he owed his success and all to listeners of his popular and arguably the most listened-to morning show in the capital, as well as to his dynamic and hardworking producers. “Without their support I couldn't have come this far,” he indicated.
Aside presenting “kokrokoo” every weekday from Monday to Friday between 6am and 10am, Kwame is also a known face on television.
He hosts the award-winning programme, 'It Takes 2' and he is famous for his 'too soon' Castle Milk Stout TV commercial.
When asked where he draws inspiration from, he said, “I draw my inspiration every morning from my loyal and intelligent listeners and the joy that I bring to them on my show. It brings me much joy when I discover that through my show I have assisted in solving societal problems and contributed one way or the other to national development and progress.”
Kwame Sefa Kayi is a father of three and tries as much as possible to devote time to his lovely wife, with whom he has 1 child.
Popular actress Irene Opare of “Sika Nti” fame mothered his first child. He said, “I try so hard to give my kids what they want and to my wife, I love her for her patience and understanding”.
At 38, Kwame is still blooming with youthful exuberance, which would hopefully carry him on in the industry for years to come.
Meanwhile, Kwame has been tagged a politician and there are those who believe he would soon launch his political career but he wants to maintain his position as a radio presenter and cross the bridge when the time comes.
He has maintained a professional relationship with members of both the ruling party and the main opposition party, such that it is difficult to associate him with a particular political grouping, though perceptions may differ in this regard.
Make a date with him Monday to Friday, between 6am and 10am. Anytime you hear the cock crow “kokorokoo”, know that it's Kwame Sefa Kayi calling on Peace FM.
