It’s true that one man’s loss is another man’s gain. DJ Sbu’s contract to host SABC TV game show Friends Like These has not been renewed, and Penznbrainz has learnt that comedian Trevor Gumbi will be replacing the controversial entrepreneur.
It has been revealed that Trevor has started shooting scenes for the new season of the show.
However, when contacted, SABC referred us to a statement made by their channel head, Maijang Mpherwane: “SABC 1 is still exploring options with regards to the future of friends like these. An announcement will be made once the relevant candidate/s is/are chosen and other procedural elements are ironed out.”
It seems this year was a very productive one for Trevor, who has been involved in a number of projects. With a reality show soon to rock the boat and his inclusion in this year’s Comedy Central International Comedy Festival, he’s looking to start 2016 with a bang.
