Born Emmanuel Kofi Botwe at Agona Swedru, in the Central Region of Ghana, Kwaw Kesse was inspired by his poor family life and has always reflected in his songs. Kwaw Kese started writing songs and performing at age 14.
In 2004, Kwaw Kese met Hammer (Producer) of the Last 2 and in the same year had his first single “Eye Nonsense”.
It was featured on a compilation album called “The Execution Dairy”, and it was an instant hit. In 2005, Kwaw released his second single “Matsewo Kwakwa” on yet another compilation album “Sounds of Our Time” and it was a hit.
Kwaw then founded his own Indie Record Label, MAD-TIME ENTERTAINMENTS and released his first Solo Album “Na Ya Tal” with the popular slogan ‘AboDAmmm’ which became an Anthem for the Streets of Ghana, in 2006. This Album was nominated for Discovery of The Year, and Popular Song of the year.
In 2007, Kwaw released his second Album “AboDAm 07″on the MAD-TIME ENTERTAINMENT label, which had seven nominations in the 2008 Ghana Music Awards.
Kwaw Kese won four Awards including the Record Label Award for’MAD-TIME ENTERTAINMENTS’, and best video for the song “Wose Mbaa Pew”
Kwaw Kese does a lot of Charity work, whether its by donating to Peace And Love Orphanage, adopting an orphanage at his hometown Agona Swedro or organizing free street shows. He also adopted a Ward at the Pantang Mental Home, where he donates funds to support Ward 3 which is now known as the KWAW KESE WARD!!!
Kwaw released His third Album “Give Way” which was nominated for MTV MAMA Awards in 2009 and has recorded songs with artists like Wyclef Jean & Memphis Bleek.
